Hi, my name is Andrew Dryden, and I am going to show you how to change the belt on a sander. Things you will need: a belt sander, and a new belt. First unplug the belt sander from the power outlet. Look on the side of the sander and locate the lever for releasing the tension on the belt. Releasing the tension will allow you to remove the belt and reinstall the new belt. Take the replacement belt and examine the inner side. Look for an arrow that indicates the direction of rotation. If you are simply changing grits, place the belt removed in the correct location to match the order of the belts you set up in step one. Align this arrow so that when the sander is operating the belt is going in the direction of the arrow. Carefully fit the belt around the roller drum in front and back. And finally, plug the belt sander back into the outlet and you are ready to sand with either a new belt or lower grit of sand, and that is how to change the belt on a sander.
