Hi this is Susan Hilferty owner of Pole Fitness Miami located in Coral Gables, Florida. In this clip we are going to talk about pole dancing in your heels, very important subject. It's very difficult in the beginning to get used to actually dance in six-inch heels. So really what you want to do is get a secure shoe, again it should really fit like a ballet slipper, very snug. And you should have a strap on the back. Ok that was the easy part. Now, you have to actually learn to walk in them. What I do with my students when we are first starting to learn how to walk is I tell them never to actually let their feet or legs leave the floor. It's like scraping your nail polish off, keeping your legs together, crossing one leg over the other and again arching your body back. Then you are going to bring your left foot through again like you are scraping your nail polish off and then fall over, but your legs never leave the ground and your feet never leave the ground.
