Famous photographers. Adams is good, I like his museum in San Francisco. But I think the guy that really impressed me the most was Edward Weston, and most of what Weston did the kind of aesthetic we have now. The black and white, the silver print, the wide white borders that sort of thing. That came from him, that was what he did. Prior to that if you look at some of the stuff probably Stieglitz, he a lot of those things are printed with ink with Rotogravure plates, and so they could be any color. They don't have that black and white kind of look. And there was a lot of printing, photographic printing processes that had different colors. But the real black and white thing was Weston, and then it was reinforced by a reproduction in magazines, and newspapers in black and white. Because that is the color of the ink, and it is the same color ink that they used for the type so it has that crisp black and white look to it. Life goes by like a stream, and the photographer in time reaches into the stream, and pulls things out. And depending on what things he pulls out, I mean if you look at the very original things Henry Fox Talbot, and the painter Daguerre with their processes their pictures are very famous. Those are the first pictures, and they just made what was there. It didn't really matter to them. But as more and more people began taking photographs, and more and more photographs were taken each individual photograph becomes less and less important. So it becomes more difficult. Andy Lebowitz was able to with Rolling Stone to photograph all of the great rock and roll people, and that was good for her. The Life photographers, the Life photographers Eisenstadt and those guys got to photograph the movers and shakers during their time. And that is one of the things that photography allows you to do. It allows you to be there, and to be apart of things that you would normally never see, and never be involved in.
