"Hello I'm Boni Wall proprietor of Just Boni at Home in La Quinta, California and I'm here to discuss registering for flatware. Keep in mind that when registering for flatware, think of your dining room table, as well as your kitchen area and perhaps your living room as well. Also another thing that I try to tell people that are registering, think about the types of dishes that you have. Are they formal, are they informal? Are, do you serve mostly men, do you serve mostly women? The weight is very important. Can they go in the dishwasher? Can they go in a warming tray? Are you able to use the fork for twirling pasta? Is the handle too long for you? Is the handle too short for you? Is the handle too heavy for you? Another tip is if you come in and you say that only serve basically for four people on your dining room table, I suggest you always get at least six to eight place settings. Somehow I think forks and spoons are like socks, they disappear and so then you'll be missing maybe a salad fork or a little spoon and then you won't be able to find it again. So I go rule of thumb is two to four place settings above what you would normally have for your dining room or for your buffet or whatever you are normally going to serve with. Also another tips is if you do a lot of outdoor entertaining try to do something that's a lot more casual and that you can if perhaps something does happen to it, it's not so drastic that you can't afford to lose it. Most people like to have the eighteen, ten stainless steel. We also do have bone handles of our silverware that we have people register that comes from France, comes from Italy. If you're going to entertain outdoors try to get a less expensive maybe a plastic handle but something that again you don't have to worry about in the heat that you can take care, that will be o'kay in the dishwasher and that's very affordable for outdoor ware. Besides the eighteen, ten stainless steel that we talk about, we don't use any plated flat, we don't have anybody registering in our particular store for plated silver plating or silver per say, sterling silver. We feel that most people again are casual. If they're not casual they'll go a little formal but we do carry a line from Italy and a line from France that's bone. If you are registering for flatware you might want to keep in mind the price point for your guests who are going to attend your function. If you think that between $50 and $75 as a place setting is affordable to them then I would go ahead and register for a set of flatware that may be imported from Italy or France or a designer set if you know that most of your guests are in the $25 let's say to $40 price range then you'll go with the eighteen, ten stainless but you can go ahead and register for both and give people the option of what they choose to get for you. I hope my tips for registering flatware have been helpful to you. I'm Boni Wall from Just Boni at Home in La Quinta, Caliornia."
