"Hi in this lesson we are going to learn a classic lick in the style of Jimmie Hendrix. It is in the key of C in the eighth position using the C minor pentatonic scale. Listen for the unison bend at the beginning, and look out for a partial bar. Not a full bar across the entire fret board, but only on these two strings in B four. I will play the lick four times for you. Let's listen at full tempo, three, four. Now let's break it down. We are going to be here on the eighth position, which is between the seventh and ninth fret. You are going to start with a unison bend, what that means is you are going to play two strings at the same time, pick at the same time, and you are going to bend up with your pinkie supporting it with two fingers behind it while fretting on the eighth fret on the high eighth string with your index finger. And what you want to do is get this note the same as this note at the same time. If you are too flat you are going to sound horrible. If you are too sharp you are going to get those pulses happening. A good way to practice is to start off slow until you get it just right. So the first thing you are going to do is pick both strings at once. You are going to do it twice. Now what's cool about this lick is that most pentatonic licks go. But this one you are going to add the ninth in there making it really cool. So you are going to start off with a unison bend. Now right here when you get to this part of the lick you are going to roll your first finger over, and bar the B string and the G string. Bend up with your third finger on the tenth fret on the G string, add a little bravada make sure you are supporting it with the first two fingers. Let's here the whole thing at a slower tempo, three, four. One more thing to add to that when you bend that last note you are not coming back down. You are not going, you are going mute, do it again, add a little bravada. Let's hear the whole thing again this time with a half speed back and track, three, four."
