"Alright, here is a lick in the key of A minor. I'm going to use the A minor pentatonic scale for this one. It's a very zact wild from Ozzy Osbourne's band type lick. It's a very aggressive sonic so check out the way that I alternate pick this. Let's see what it sounds like. I'm going to play this one four times in a row. Okay; three, four. Okay, let's break this lick down a little bit. This is really simple. It just uses four notes from the pentatonic scale; starting on a D on the tenth fret of the high E string and it uses two notes on the high E and two notes on the B. The way I play this is I alternate pick which means that I start it with a down stroke then went to an upstroke for the next note; a down stroke and then an upstroke constantly over and over again. One thing you might want to experiment with, if you don't want it to sound so aggressive is you can pull off those two notes an each string. The lick will sound a little bit different; kind of like this; three, four. Or you can do it as I originally did and aggressively pick it; like that. Another thing to make note of is this lick utilizes sixteenth notes which are four notes for every beat of the backing track. So every time you tap your foot, you're going to hear four notes; one, two, three, four; one, two, three, four; one, two, three, four; one, two, three, four. So now I'm going to play the lick for you two times slowly against the backing track; three, four."
