"Good afternoon, my name's Tom Brintzenhofe, certified master tech out of Reading, PA. Today, we're going to talk a little bit about how to make your engine more powerful. Now, we could probably sit here all day and go through every different option and every different procedure for changing stuff out in your vehicle, but I'm just going to simplify it real quick and give you a couple of different options and let you go from there. You have many different options out there. The first one would be your exhaust, whether you want to go with a dual exhaust system to give you a little bit more flow, a little horsepower and that direction. They also have computer chips that could generate up to 30, 40 percent more horsepower. They go directly in your computer. It basically just reprograms the system. They have airflow systems from K&N. K&N filter might give you another 10, 15 horsepower, give you better fuel economy. The other options you might have later on might be if you want to invest some money into is a turbo kit for your engine depending on the setup of your vehicle. If you want to go extreme, you can end up replacing heads on it. Those cost anywhere from two grand and up. It really all depends on what kind of money you want to stick into it, what your budget is. A low budget fix would be air filter, running better gasoline, maybe even some performance spark plugs. That's a good start right there. Other than that, everything else is pretty much going to be a budget and up 1,000 dollars and up. It can even get into 10, 15,000 dollars, depending on how extreme you want to go. But the easiest way to go is your K&N air filter, run a higher octane fuel, keep it tuned up, maybe get some better spark plugs in it, maybe a better set of spark plug wires, and just keep up with your maintenance. Other than that, you're looking at heads, computer chips, and so forth, but there's tons of stuff up there. Look it up on the Internet. There's an endless supply of performance products out there. Check it out. Let me know. That's your best way to get the most horsepower out of your engine."
