Video Transcript

"Hi, my name is Athena Reich and I'm a singer, songwriter and music host here in New York City. In this clip, I'm going to talk about how to book a show. You're a musician, you're ready to go and perform. How do you do it? Well, first of all, one of the things you can do is go to open mikes and you can meet the venue owners there and you can probably talk your way into a gig. Another thing is you do some Internet research and you can look at what other musicians who do your kind of music, where they are playing. An incredible resource for musicians is Sonicbids.com. Sonicbids.com. You go here and you sign up for an account, you can, this is a list of all these gigs that I can apply for. These are things at universities that pay, these are things like festivals, these are agents. I can submit my music. And, with Sonicbids.com, you create an electronic press kit. Here's my electronic press kit and it has my bio, it has my music streaming, it has my video, it has photos, it has my calendar and my upcoming gigs. Sonicbids.com is an incredible resource for getting yourself out there as a musician and booking your own show. This has been Athena Reich in New York City."
