"This is Anthony, and we're going to talk about how to copyright one of your photographs. There is a popular misconception about copyright. Once you make a photograph you own the rights to that photograph for your lifetime plus seventy years, so that's one of the first misconceptions about copyrighting. The easiest way to copyright an image is to write; if it was one of my images, Anthony Maddaloni with the c copyright, the year it was made. That essentially is copyrighting my image. Now, the more organized quote unquote "professional" way to copyright an image is to apply for a copyright to that image to the Office of Copyrights, Register of Copyrights, Library of Congress, Washington, DC, 20559. Their phone number is 202-707-9100. It will be a fee of thirty dollars to copyright that one image, but this is this is kind of cool; you can copyright as many images as you want for that thirty dollars. Now, that is exactly how you could copyright a whole portfolio if you wanted to, and you know, that's not really a bad idea if you really want your images copyrighted. And that is how you would go about getting a copyright for one of your photographs."
