Where Can You Publish Photography Books?

Photography is the art of making pictures by exposing film or another medium to a timed flash of light. The basic equipment used for photography includes a digital or mechanical camera equipped with a flash, film or a memory card. Mastering the art of photography is a technical and challenging experience. One has to learn how to focus the lens, control the aperture of the lens, filter the light and understand the importance of the focal length and duration of the exposure. "My name is Anthony Maddaloni and I'm going to talk about where you can publish photography books. Now one of, obviously, the best place to publish a photography book is a book publisher. Now you just can't walk into a book publishers office and say, "hey, I got this book. I want you to publish it". You really got to think of an idea, you have to think of a format for your idea that a publisher is going to want to buy in hopes of making some money to sell your book. Now there are also forms of self publication. Nowadays a lot of the do it yourself type programs that are out there are actually amazing for people to publish their own types of photography. You can also buy certain books off Photographer's Marketplace is a great place to look for what publishers or what just editors are looking for. And again, it's the type of thing where the more specific you are, the better a chance you have at getting a book published. Now this could be a human interest story, this could be landscape photography, really it could be anything that you have a passion for that you want to create a book and publish it. There are certain legal ramifications to publishing, there are certain editorial ramifications. You need to have someone working with you. Unless you're an absolute just genius, you're going to really need to have someone edit your work for you, think about content and make it a very strong story telling, something someone wants to publish and buy. Perhaps for a coffee table book, a travel book. So that is some ways that you can get your work published."
