Painting and drawing is the art of using a pigmented medium to create a picture of reality filtered through the imagination, the senses, emotions and life experience. Artists the world over have multiplied the uses of painting and drawing as a vital mode of human expression, whether recording history, retelling myth and legend, expressing religious fervor or exploring the unknown. From early history to the present, we have records of man making graphic representations of the world, showing understanding and curiosity. In this free video series on art, illustrator Lars Erik Robinson discusses several tips for drawing and illustrating artistic designs. Robinson begins by explaining how to design a crest, a small business logo, a sports logo, a triathlon logo, band bumper stickers and soccer logos. He then discusses other art related topics, such as: how to buy art prints and framed art, how to organize an exhibition, maintain good posture, choose an easel and set prices. "Hey. Welcome everybody. My name is Lars Erik Robinson and I'm with LarsEr Arts All Around ArtTainment. Today we're going to talk about how to draw a family crest and how you'd make your own family crest. What they usually look for is they go as far back as when your name was created. For example this is an armor, right here, a profile of an armor of the face and they put your last name up here for example; "What's your last name?" "Usher” See we can probably get some of the people in the crew here, their names in here. So, that's normally a more fancier script that you would have up here; little curves. OK. Then they have little leaves or something like that down here, maybe a year. So, usually people like to have this tattoo like usher was telling me that he'd like maybe have his family heirloom on his tattoo. That gives you an idea of how you create your own family heirloom. You can do it anyway you want, but just think about something that you think is in your past, do some research and that's how you make it. Thank you."
