"Hi I'm Jay French with jayfrenchstudios.com and I'm going to show you how to draw InuYasha characters. To start with InuYasha I'm going to start with we are just basically going to do his head and the hands are big here but very angular jaw line and chin. You can really do this with literally no curvature at all almost I mean you can put a little bit of curves in those corners but for the most part those are just sharp corners and if you do them and it's just sharp it will still look right. The hair comes way down in his eyes classic animate but this one even more so I'd say, big fluffs of hair but basically the bangs are their own entity and kind of get that chiseled kind of lighteninged look into the curvature of the bangs. Now this one is very distinctive, let's get the eyes in here. This one is when it really breaks and looks like Sailor Moon, this very much breaks the lines on the eyebrows. The eyebrows stick out beyond or in front of the bangs they show up. Here we have got this particular expression which is a common one of his with one eyebrow higher than the other and they are very narrow, something you don't see as commonly in animates but occasionally, very narrow irises, narrow oval with instead of a white circle of highlight it actually has a divided line. It has a little black swash in the center. I'll show you this large so you can make sure you can see this, the top half is white and the bottom half is the golden color of his eyes. Now here we have his cat ears sticking up. The bangs continue and again remember those sharp angles, that lightening like look to the barbs of his hair then the topknot or ponytail behind him goes above that. And we have very minimal on the nose, very minimal on the mouth. We have that snarl going on here and you do occasionally see a little shadow for his lower lip and then we have this very angular tendrils of hair that hang out in front and almost look like weapons in and of themselves and that comes down and when you do shading and you are doing color and you'll do some dark areas all along here and a little star burst in the center of the bangs there and do some shading to separate those lines and along here. Again try to keep that sharpness of that lightening look and his hair will stretch out here and we won't worry about the shading there as I just show it to you and we had his distinctive cut sleeve and we won't go beyond that. His beads which again we'll just show you real quickly and we won't worry about the details on that and the wrap to his costume. That's how you start with drawing InuYasha characters."
