"Hi, one of the most important things you'll ever do in planning your wedding is coming up with a budget. This is Kathie Millen, and I'm Vivian Miller, and we're with Austin Wedding Planners and Elite Events. And today we're going to talk to you about your budget. Exactly, one of the most important things you'll do. And the hardest. Yeah, it is one of the most probably stressful is what we hear, and good reason being that depending on who's going to help pay for that wedding, if it's the couple with the grooms parents and the bride's parents. A lot of times these day it all mushes together, so it's real important to go and sit down on paper, I feel like, before you even go to the parents. See what the couple is going to pay for and what they're going to be responsible for and talk to each set of parents separately. When I, when a couple comes in to me, I always tell them to be honest and give me two sets of numbers. A number that you want to hit, and a number you absolutely can't go over. And it usually, somewhere in between those two numbers is where we can hit. But be honest, and just keep in mind, I do weddings at any budget. From the lowest budget to the sky's the limit budget. And there's vendors. We just have to be exact, we have to find out what's the most important thing to you and put that money toward, toward that vendor. That's right. And then other things, there's always short cuts to take that we can do that no one would ever know about. You can take, for example, your flowers. If flowers are real important to you, you can stagger them. Like have every other table with your flowers and then bring in candles and things like that. I mean there's always things that you can fill in. And don't stress over that budget. It's workable. I hear lots of brides say, "I don't have this huge budget so I know my wedding's not going to be nice." That's not true at all. That's not true. So be honest to yourself, talk to your fiance, talk to your parents, get a good number and stick with it. And then come up with the top three things that's most important to you. Whether it's the flowers, the music, the facility or your dress. There's going to be two, three top things that's going to be the most important. And that helps any wedding coordinator figure out how much your budget can be, or even your self. This is Kathie Millen, and I'm Vivian Miller."
