"My name is Ryan Parker with Parker Home Renovations in New Braunfels, Texas and today I am going to teach you how to change a fluorescent light bulb. Most fluorescent light bulbs are located in the kitchen area or in the garage and what you can do you can locate the one that is giving you trouble. Either it is flickering on and off or it is off all together. Now what you want to do is you want to go over to that light fixture and if it's an exposed bulb you can actually just turn the light switch off, let it cool down and then you can reach up there and you want to turn it a half a turn until the pins on the end line up with the sleeve on the casing. Then you want to take the bulb out. You want to go down to the store and find one that is the same size. It has to be the same size otherwise it won't fit. And then you want to come back to the house, take the new bulb, line the pins up with the sleeve on the jacket and then you want to slide it back into place, rotate it a half a turn until it locks into position and then you can go back and turn your light switch on and it should work. Be careful when disposing of these light bulbs because they do tend to violently explode because they do have gases inside. Typically you want to wrap them in some type of cloth before you throw them away. Just be careful when handling them or disposing of them.
