"Are you ready to make your shimmies even more exciting? My name's Karen and this is Johanna. We're with Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio, in Saint Petersburg, Florida. We're going to take our shimmy, and do a a backward horizontal figure eight with it. So make sure you get your shimmy going nice and strong. We're going to bring it to the front, keep it out there, angle it to the back corner, slide it through your body to the other corner and back. Slide it through, point to that corner, bring it around to the back, then to the opposite corner, bring it around to the back, and then speed it up a little bit. Make sure that your chest stays nice and still, so you can see the hip movements. Make sure your heels are pressed into the floor, and your knees stay bent, so that your body has all the action going right into the hips. Keep your chin nice and lifted, and make it look really effortless. You can do this if you practice this in the mirror each day, and make sure that your hips stay nice and even. Keep breathing and watch that belly button. You're going to feel your weight shift from outside of your foot to the other outside, yeah, good. Practice this over and over till' you get it nice and smooth."
