"Are you ready to add a slide to your nice strong shimmy? My name's Karen and this is Johanna, and we're with Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio, in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Let's get our nice strong shimmy going. Nice and gentle; we don't have to be going crazy here. Keep it going nice and smooth, and what we're going to do is make sure our belly button is tucked into our spine; chest is lifted. Let's put our arms out here to frame our body. Now, slowly shift your weight to the outside of one of your feet, and then slide it back through over to the other side, so center side, center side. So the thing you want to do to keep this nice and smooth is keep that shimmy going without interrupting it, center side, center side. Make sure the chest stays lifted here, keep that belly in, keep those knees nice and bent so everything can move. If your knees aren't bent, your hips won't be able to move. Practice this in the mirror and you'll have a really nice shimmy slide too."
