So, for the basic rendering, what we need for materials would be just a blank piece of paper. Any kind of paper would do. Whatever you can get your hands on is fine. But, usually something with a little bit more grain is good. This has a little bit of grain in it to catch the graphite. But, it's pretty smooth, it's kind of like a cold press. But, you kind of see, usually the sides of every piece of paper are going to be different. Just so you know, you can check them out, see which side you like better. I actually like this side better, because there's more grain. So, I'll use this one. And then for graphite pencils, you can use whatever you have, and you can try different kinds out and see what you like. This one, for example, is a basic HB, and it's going to be standard pencil, very nice, just regular old graphite. This one is 4HB. It's going to be, you can see it comes out lighter. This one is not my favorite! I like the bold, heavy stripes, and this is really light. A lot of people like to use all them at once. This pencil is a 6H. It's kind of even lighter, but it's sharper. This is another HB. So, I'm going to go with the HB, and always you want to have a sharpener handy.
