Color Theory: Changing Color Intensity

"So, you can see how that will, you know, change your intensity. But how we're going to change the intensity of purple? Which is, let's say pretty darn purple. So I'm going to add in my darkest one there and see what happens. And I get this sort of brownie color. But, we're going to put that in right now and just see where it takes us. See we still got this tint of yellow in there. I am going to, it's a yellow brown is what it is. And this by the way is how you can make a lot of browns. Is that you mix your complementaries together and you'll get browns. So, I'm going to add some more violet to that brown and see what happens. And we don't always end up with the same amount of steps per, per color unit. Okay, that one is sort of closer to this. So this tells me that it's sort of a gray purple. But I'm trying to decide, I'm doing this because I'm trying to decide whether it's closer to purple or closer to yellow. So I'm going to add in just a little bit more purple. Yes, I like that better. Okay, so we got you know, the yellow has automatically lightened up the purple. And the yellow of course automatically has to go darker. Let's see. Yes, there we go. There. That's a bit of a graydation. In, when you have such a change, you got to have a intermediary which is why I brought in these two colors. And that's saturation."
