"This is Athena Reich, and I'm a musician and an actor here in New York City, and I also coach both music and acting. Hey this is Athena Reich in how to start a band. Well first of all think about what kind of music do you like. Do you want to be hard core metal, or do you want to be a soft, pretty folk band. Really think about what kind of music you want. Or just start looking on Craigslist and maybe that will help you decide. You go to Craigslist and you go to the musicians section, you'll see tons of people looking for singers, looking for guitarist, looking for drummers. You can start contacting these people, maybe even make your own website as a way to showcase. Or your my space page, make a my space page that you know record your own music at home and that will help showcase it. So when you email these people on Craigslist you look really professional. Or just get your friends together, make a regular time. Say we're going to start practicing once or week, or twice a week, and we're going to start going out performing. So basically Craigslist, my space, getting your friends together. But really thing about what kind of music, what is going to be your genre of music, and what's going to make your band stand out. This has been Athena Reich i New York City."
