"This is Athena Reich and I'm a musician and an actor here in New York City and I also coach both music and acting. In this clip I'm going to talk about how do I sell my lyrics. Well the first thing you should do is join an organization one of the unions that are specifically for musicians, composers, song writers and publishers. VMI is one of the main ones and so is ASCAP. Now in these organizations they have events where you can perform and showcase your material and network with other people in the industry. They have advice, they have links to conferences, the first thing I would suggest you do if you are a lyricist is to go to these events, network with other composers because other aspiring composers, you can get together and start collaborating with people who are on your level very easily and then that way you guys can pitch your song as a full song together with the music and the lyrics. Now say you have done that already you have music and lyrics together one of the places that I recommend that you pitch your material is at Sonic Bids. You set up a Sonic Bids account then there is a list of major labels and artists and agencies looking for material. This has been Athena Reich in New York City."
