"Now this is, this is a big deal. Watch what happens with the 'D'. The 'D' now ends up being a much more rounded form. Watch when you do this. Watch the counter and make sure that your counter stays. Stays round enough on. But look, this 'D', leads to this 'd'. And I know, you know that 'd'. O.k., and we also have a rounded 'E'. For this letter form. And I know, you can see the Roman capitals, underneath. At least the way, I'm twisting and turning the pen. Just like the, just like the 'C', now. It's going to come around. And then it's going to get dragged a little bit. And here's the 'E'. I'm doing, maybe, one way, we'll go all the way up to the I. Nice sense of a rounded form, here. Cross barb, out there. This is not a typeface. Ok. A typeface in a typeface, every letter always looks exactly the same. But with calligraphy, it's always an individual. And you know, everybody, everybody has different handwriting. Here we go. Here's an ascender. Here's an H. That is at this point still considered a capital letter. But look. It's really starting to look like a lower case 'h'. Has a roundedness to it. And often would end up at a point like this. Now I'm just going to go to the 'I'. I want you to take a look at this 'I'. Because the character of this 'I', is what's going to give you a sense of what this letter form, feels like. And remember, I talked before, S was for sensual. This letter form is exceedingly sensual. It feels so wonderful to do this letter form. I would choose very carefully, the quotation that you might want to do, to practice this letter from. You want to be pretty serious about it. Feels good."
