"To get started we're going to make some guidelines on a page, whether you're using gridded or plain paper. Now, for the pen that I'm using, I've established a four pen width, so, one, two, three, four. A four pen width height for the letters. So, whatever tool you're using, you're going to first determine what the height of these letters should be. And then you're going to take a ruler and a pencil and make marks on the page that correspond to this interval. So, I know it's four of these blocks, so I'm going to measure four blocks, and four blocks, and four blocks. But, again, depending on what size pen you're using you may have a different height, but it's always going to be expressed in the same interval as the tool you're writing with. So, if you're writing with a big pen you'll have more space. If you're writing with a smaller pen, you'll have smaller spaces, but they'll be four pen widths."
