"Now we're going to talk about the toe pic. A toe pic is used as a component of a more complex step in tap. Sometimes you will find shoes that have the tap that curls up over the toe, and that part of the tap is called the "toe pic". Not all shoes have that, but you should still be able to get a good sound from any flat tap. The part of the shoe that you want to strike on the floor is the very top of the tap. Now I'll show you how to execute a toe pic. You can do a toe pic to the side, or directly to the back. You can also do a toe pic out to the side. And now for the side view. Striking the top part of the toe tap on the floor. You can also do the toe pic to the side, or out to the side. And now for the rear view. Crossed back, and out to the side."
