"In this clip I'm going to talk about different types of guitars. You've already seen a few of them but we're going to get specific about each kind right now. This here is a solid body electric guitar. Now it's electric because you can see the pick ups on the guitar here which transmit the sound through this jack. We'll look at cables later. But out of this jack you would plug into an amplifier and that's how you would get the sound out of this guitar. Now you call it solid body because this is made of one piece of wood. It's one solid piece. Whereas some of the other guitars you'll see have hollow S backs to them, semi hollow, S backs. Now let's look at one other type. This guitar is also a solid body electric guitar. You'll see that there's three pick ups, even though they're different kinds, the fact that you have pick ups makes it electric. The jack on the bottom. And the fact that it's made of one solid piece of wood."
