In this clip, we're going to look at the correct arm positions for Flamenco. One of the most important stylistic differences in the arm for Flamenco or any other form of Spanish dance is that the elbows stays lifted, almost sticking it. So when we take a standard first position with our arms, notice that my elbows stay up. Now let's look at it from the side lightly, so that when I look to the left, or I look to the right, I could see the inside of my arm. As I turn facing front, we now have what is called a Spanish fifth as opposed to a Ballet fifth where the arms would be a little bit forward in front of the head. From this position, notice how I keep the hands rested and focused, and the wrists are bent slightly and the hands are very relaxed.
