"Hi, I'm Rebecca Guenther with m5a1photography.com and I'm going to give you a couple of tips on digital photography for beginners. What you're going to want to do is if you're just starting out and you have your camera hopefully, you've gotten your hands on a digital SLR because that's really the first step if you're going to go and learn about photography. So, you're going to have your camera and obviously you're going to turn it on and what you're going to do is start out setting it automatic. Take pictures. Pay attention to what your camera is doing. What your camera is going to do is going to control every setting that there is. Take a picture look at it. See what you like. See what you don't like and then start experimenting. From there, go ahead and start setting you know say start setting your shutter speed and watching what your camera does with the aperture. Then you'll get to see okay approximately this is where I need to be. From there, swap it. Let the camera control your shutter's speed. You control your aperture. You'll get to see depth of feel through that. You'll get to see how apertures work. What you like? What has a feeling that you like to it and once you got a firm grasp on both of those, turn it all the way to manual and set both of the settings and experiment. See what works for you. Figure out do you like more grain, set your ASA to eight hundred. Do you like less grain, set it to one hundred make sure you have enough light or that you have less light if that's what you want. If you're just starting out, really the key is to just shoot as much as you possible can and experiment as much as you can and then figure out why you like what you like and then just keep doing that until you get the images that you want and that's how to start out as a digital photographer."
