Hi I'm Bill Connolly, your cartoonist and artist extraordinaire with how to draw a butterfly in soft pastels. I have got these really cool pastel pencils and you can go in and do the outline of your butterfly like that make any design you want and then just fill it in. They have got the little antennas and you can put little faces on them if you want to but I'll color in as much as I can. You go in then and these are great because you can really get details with them with these pastel pencils and you can outline them. The rest is just design. You can design your own butterfly like you were creating it yourself. Then you go and I will probably put some oranges and I'll do one of the wings up here, the background and if you have thicker pastels too it will go faster into the big areas. You are just real general laying it out and then we will use red for the body as well. That is the basic set up there, basic design and they have amazing camouflage designs of the butterflies, fill in the rest of it there and that is the basic lay out of doing a butterfly in soft pastels. I hope you enjoyed it.
