"In this segment we are going to talk about how to become a band manager. Band managers have a very, very important job for bands because they are basically the face of the band in a business type setting. There's two basic ways to become a band manager, one is to be friends with the band and basically the goal there is to get the band as much exposure as you can. And one way to do that is to get them some really good gigs that are in front of people whether it be festivals, playing churches, playing bars where there is people there. Playing colleges wherever you think that particular group is going to be, to fit in. That's some good places to get them to play shows because playing shows is cheap and easy and it doesn't cost any money and that's the number one way to get exposure. And also you want to do Internet marketing and networking too. The second major way to be a band manager is to start out at a large company that already has, they are major contacts and their foot in the door in the professional environment. What you want to do is start out as an intern or even hopefully even better would be an assistant position and slowly work your way up over time till you are one of the guys representing the big fish in the sea I guess you can say. And those are the two ways that you could basically become a band manager."
