"If you need a cheap lighting kit and you don't have the money to go out and buy an Arri kit or Chimera soft boxes then there are a couple of different ways you can go about getting some quality lighting for your video or for photography. What I recommend is... and what I did actually when I first started in video production is I went to sears and I got myself a Craftsman 1000 watt lighting kit. They have multiple lights, two on each side. I bought three sets of those and I was off on my way with lighting because believe it or not the Craftsman lighting kits are actually the same temperature as your Arri style lighting kits so you'll get the same effect. What you will need though is a diffuser. Now this is actually a professional Chimera diffuser for your soft boxes, but you can also get away from going to a fabric store and getting what's called ripped nylon, it's also fire proof type of nylon that you can put over top of your lighting. So, in effect for less than a hundred dollars you could have an entire lighting kit made with soft boxes ready for video or photography. I hope that helps."
