Alright folks in this clip we are going to learn how to draw a whimsical face. Whimsy is usually an expression that conveys some sort of an awe happiness, basically jubilation, glee, anything that kind of remotely looks like it belongs in the friendly happy joyful expression list, you could call that a whimsical face. So what we are going to do is I am going to basically teach you how to draw whimsy happiness which is basically your standard look anyway for most cartoon drawings and we're going to start with the eyes so I have drawn basically two circles here for the outer edges of the eye and the eyebrows above it. Whimsy, a good way to show whimsy is to show a lot of wonder in the face as well so really get in there and draw the pupils kind of in the center and leave a little bit of white in the middle for the happy whimsical glow. Try and make both the white center of the pupils as even as possible so it looks like the character is staring in the same direction, try and copy as much as possible. One way to add whimsy to the face is not to draw eyelids because their eyes are probably wide eyed with happiness and awe so don't draw eyelids if you are trying to draw whimsy. I am just going to come down here and do the nose and another key element, the big big grin. Now you can do this as a closed grin and the only thing you have to do at this point is draw the lip underneath or you can go like this and kind of give him an open mouth expression with a tongue like so and that will give you some whimsy as well. I mean it is like kind of more of an awe mouth hanging open, a gape sort of thing and then just come in and draw the face around it and obviously you can adapt this for your own style. This is really meant more to show you just the emotion, the emotion of whimsy itself. So just keep in mind when you are drawing whimsy anything in the happy joyful anything in that range of emotion will do the trick. If you are trying to draw someone who has sort of a whimsical expression this is basically what you are going for.
