Hi, I'm Koorosh Angali with I'm going to give you some basic tips on what we consider art materials. When they say art materials, what, what do they mean? Basically, we are talking about a support which could be a canvass, a panel; this is masonite, you can use a plywood and other kinds of sturdy wood. Some sort of primer, a gesso as we call it which is basically a mixture of a binder and some sort of gypsum that you cover your canvass or, or the panel with it. You need some mediums; linseed oil. Some mediums are pre-manufactured by some companies like Coco Medium and so forth. I personally would like to mix the linseed oil and da mar varnish, normally fifty-fifty; this some dryer, Japan dryer or secatif. What more you need is brushes; you need different kinds of brushes; wide, medium, flat, round, small and filberts. In addition to that, at some point if you make a lot of details in your painting, you probably would use even water color brushes in painting in oil. Oils are available in all sorts of sizes, in tubes and jars and so forth and by different, different manufacturers and normally they are already mixed with the binder, with the basic binder and so you don't have to worry about preparing it from the powder pigment. What you need to do, you just mix some of the mediums with that and, and you're on the way to making a beautiful art.
