Hi, I'm Koorosh Angali with angali.com. I'm going to give you some tips on how to mix oil and acrylic pigments together in the same painting. Although acrylic is a water based pigment, and oil, of course, is an oil based pigment, in the beginning it seems as if we cannot mix these two with each other. However, it is possible to mix the two with each other, especially if you add the oil paint on top of acrylics. When acrylic paint is dry, you practically can add anything on top of it, water based pigments as well as oil based pigments. As you can see in this painting, the egg that I have painted was painted first with acrylics, and then on top of that I added some oil to make the blending of that egg much smoother as I needed to show it that way.
