Video Transcript

"Stage directors are generally the people who direct the actions that are taken on the stage, in the theater, in a play, or some type of production. Generally, the stage directors will be the people that will tell the actors which direction to take, where to stand, how to present themselves. Not to be confused with a regular director but a stage director is someone who's actually there right on the stage, directing them, maybe even taking direction from the director himself, telling the actors exactly what to do and communicating with the actors that are on the set, on the stage. So a stage director is actually responsible for the acting and the direction of the actors on the stage in any type of production, not to be confused, again with the director or the producer, and those people who actually are in charge of the production itself. So if you want to be a stage director now you know what you have to do to make that happen."
