Video Transcript

"Hi, my name is Tom, this is on behalf of Expert Village. What I want to do is show you some short cuts to playing the electric guitar. In this segment, what I want to do is let you know that there is basically only 4 chords. 4 chords are pretty well all of the rock and roll songs you have listened to. One of the chords is, these are all bar chords. What I mean by bar chords is we would see when we go into the fingerings in later exercises. But that you are always using your index finger to cover all the strings. It is almost like a clip a the guitar and then we would talk about finger positions later. So that is the first chord and by up and down we are playing the very same chord but in a different key. 2nd chord is almost as easy, it is the same chord I'm playing just changing the position on the guitar. 3rd chord it has kind of a minor bar chord. Then the last of the 4 chords is another minor chord and again to position. That is all to rock and roll kids 4 bar chords and we are going to go through each one."
