"Before we get into the drum beats, and the drum fills, I'm going to show you an exercise that helps you work on the single, double, and triple paradiddles. What you're going to do is play a measure of single paradiddles; four, then you're going to play four double paradiddles. Then you're going to play four triple paradiddles. When you get to the end, you're going to loop it back to the beginning, then it's just one big pattern. So you have the single for four, the double for four, and the triple for four. We'll start it off real slow, so you can get the hang of it. Oney and a twoey and a three-eey and a fourey, and a....Now we're going to add the bass drum in to help you keep time; it will help you with your feel. So, work on that exercise, and you'll be nice and warmed up to make some beats with the paradiddles."
