How to Choose Clown Makeup

"On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Paul Anderson from the ABC Circus, here in Hollywood, Florida. We're going to do, How to be a Clown. What kind of makeup should you wear, or perhaps you could wear no makeup at all. When I first started clowning, I clowned as a white face clown, full white face makeup. Believe it or not, I had children coming up kicking me in the shins saying "you're not a real clown." Then I changed costumes and wore no makeup at all. Then the children came up and said, "you're a real clown." It's funny, if you try too hard to be a clown, you might get the opposite effect. Sometimes less is better. You could even just simply wear a nose and be a silly clown. Of course, just picking the nose sounds bad doesn't it? There, try that one, or try that one. There are a lot of possibilities. No makeup at all."
