" Hi! My name is Vincent Sansone and I am the Head of the Ceramics Department here at Crealde School of Art here in Winter Park. Today for Expert Village I am going to show you how to glaze a pot. Now, I have already mixed this glaze up so that everything is in suspension and it is homogenous. So I am going to glaze the lid first by holding it and for a count of three with these tongs, one, two, three and out and you can tell that where the wax was applied, the glaze is not sticking to it, so that way when I wipe this off clean, it will be a lot easier to wipe off. I set it down there; the glaze absorbs into the clay. This is bisque fired, it is still porous but it can slake back down when you get it wet because it is fired to 1800 degrees. So, alright, I have got the lid glazed and now I am going to glaze. Let’s see, I think I will do it this way first. One, two, three and out; now it is almost dry. While I am waiting here I am just going to wipe the droplets of glaze off. Okay, now you hold it from the other end and glaze the rest of it. One, two, three and there we are, okay."
