" Hi, this is Stephanie and I'm going to talk in this series about choosing an album. The most common size for a scrapbook album is a 12 by 12 size. It's a nice size; a lot of people like it because it's square. It also gives you enough room to put several photos, as well as the embellishments that you want. It's... There is a couple different types of 12 by 12 albums. This type is called the post-bound, and if you look here you'll see that you just, you open this slot and there's little posts. And for you to add more pages, you just have to unscrew these posts and put the papers in. It's a little more challenging, but it does allow you to put as many pages as you want in the album that will comfortably fit. The other type of 12 by 12 album is called a, is a spiral-bound. It's kind of like an old notebook. These kind of ones are good because if you're not a chronological scrapbooker, you can just put pages in and out. These come out easily, and they are easy to flip through. I think that the one thing that is different between these and the post-bound, is if you're doing a two-page layout, the pages aren't close together. But it's nice if you're just doing one-page layouts. In a post-bound album the pages are directly next to each other. There's no space. So some people prefer that look and won't go with a post-bound. Another size is 8 1/2 by 11 size, which is this size. People like this kind of size, it is smaller, you don't have as much room to work, but you can easily use a scanner and scan it to share copies or make copies of it much more easily. You can also tilt the album this way, which they call a landscape. And then you would just use the page horizontally instead of vertically. There are also smaller sizes. There's 8 by 8, 6 by 6. This happens to be a 6 by 8. These are really good. You can put like one or two small photos, your favorite photos, and just a little bit of embellisment. They're great for a theme album, if you want to do just your vacation, or these are the photos from Christmas, they're nice for that. They're also great gift albums. But if you were really going to want to put a ton of embellishments, this isn't the way to go. You want to go with one of the larger sizes. "
