"On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Natalia Paruz, also known as "the saw lady." You can find me in New York City, and today I'm going to teach you how to play a saw. The best way to start learning to play the saw is to use a mallet. You bend the blade in sort of S curve by pressing on the blade with your thumb and by lifting the blade up with your fingers. Then try to hit the blade exactly in the highest part of the S curve. To change pitches, you bend the blade while maintaining the S curve. It is best to start with a mallet because that enables you to find the location of the notes on the blade. You can then progress to using a bow."
