"Now, let's make our drumstick for the drum. What were going to need is a styrofoam ball and, a wooden skewer stick and, were going to put the styrofoam ball directly onto the wooden skewer. Now, the wooden skewer is pretty thin and, is very sharp so it doesn't create a large hole that's going to come undone or widen up. That also is because the styrofoam is very sturdy styrofoam. It's very tightly packed and, so when the skewer goes in, it fits nice and snug. Now afterwards, the type of decoration that you put on the end of the styrofoam ball is up to you. I'm using some permanent markers and, I'm going to make some shapes and colors around it. Make it look really, make it stand out and, make it attractive. Especially if this is a toy for a small child you're going to want him to want to play with the drum. So, if we make a nice stick and we decorate it properly, it will catch the eye and the child would want to play with it for a long time. So, it's important to use bright colors and different types of decorations. But, you don't have to use a permanent marker, you can go ahead and apply paint and, sparkles with glue, you can put a lot of things onto the end of the drumstick. So, this is how, this is one way with a permanent marker, this is one way to decorate it. Now, the other reason that you might want to decorate a permanent marker is because of the time factor. Every, and I mentioned before, every step that you used with paint it needs to dry and it also, if you're doing a project with children, it's very hard to manage a group of kids when you apply paints and you have to let the project just sit and wait. So, it's kind of, makes it difficult as far as what to do with the children. So, this is just one idea that depending on what you're using this project for, you have to think of these things, when doing activities especially, with more than one child if you're going to be doing it in front of a group of kids. So, I made the end the entire drumstick one color and I'm going to apply some gold paint, a gold paint marker that's going to make some different decorations, different spots, over the end of the stick, make it stand out a little bit. I'm not going to go too overboard with the different type of decorations that I'm going to be using in for this particular project. But, again whatever you whatever supplies you have on hand, and whatever, however, you want to decorate it that is really there is no limitation. So, now I've shown you how to put the styrofoam ball on the end of the stick and decorate it to make a drumstick."
