"Okay now we're going to talk a little bit about caulking interior door jambs. Now, this is very different from anything else you caulk, Now this is wood and when you're caulking on wood, every ridge, every roll up, every burr is going to show. It's a slick surface. So you've got to smooth out these lines better than on anything else you caulk. Also this is where it's important to remember to keep that small tip. You're going to want a small bead of caulking that you can control. If you get too big a caulking bead in there, it's all over the place and you're probably just going to be wasting caulk. So you want to go ahead and caulk that into your line and hold this a little bit back from the work, straight out like this so that you can put a thinner caulking bead in there. By holding it back, you can get a tighter bead in there and just lay that bead on in there nicely. Now once you have it in there, you want to take your finger and wipe this on out. Get it nice and even. Take your time with it. Don't try to run the line out too fast. Once you get to the end, square it off. You see how I worked my finger out like that so that all the goo is up on here, that way I have that to roll with. Now I'm going to be doing this line too. So I'll take that excess and I'll throw that up in here. That way it's not wasted and it's off my finger and that's the way I continue to work myself around the jamb. Alright now, you'll find this is a lot harder than it looks. Don't lose sleep over it. Okay. If you've got a few ridges in your paintwork, it's not like people are going to point it out and once you start to really see what it looks like, you're going to notice that they are every where. But if you do this kind of work on your door jambs, you're going to have the prettiest door jambs in the neighborhood. So remember, lay out the bead and then even it out. Don't leave any ridges on it and then when you paint over it, it's going to look like new. Well, that's only one door jamb and I'm only half way through it. I've still got another one to go and I still want to finish this. But this is how you do a professional caulking job on your door jambs."
