"Hi! My name is Chad Smith and I'm a state certified Journeyman Wireman basically a electrician. Now we are inside here and we are going to remove the old doorbell base. Now you would notice this base this is the one that you saw at your grandmas house. This thing is old. So we are going to pull this off and its really easy it just pulls right off of the wall. This cover just pops right off and you throw this aside. Now inside here you would notice that you have 3 wires. You have a green wire, a red wire, and a blue wire. Now you are going to need a piece of paper at this time and you would also notice on these terminals you have RT and F. R is for your rear door so you right down blue actually green with R, T which is the transformer with red and blue for F that would be your front button. Now there is a transformer up in the attic that is actually running and we would go through this on a later segment. But right now we just going to take these leads off. So just take that R off, take the T off, and take the F off. Okay when you are pulling these wires off here be careful cause you could already see this jacket is already fray and coming off the wire. Now that is not going to cause a short or anything like that but you just want to have these protected so they don't arch on to the base or anything like that and make your doorbell do funny things. Just take your screwdriver this unit is practically falling off the wall as we speak. So you just take and roll these screws out and when you are taking this off just be really careful because the jacket on these wires. You don't want to shred this jacket off here and it won't cause a fire or a short out or anything but it is always nice to just have the jacket on the wires. So you just pull it out, slowly, okay, so now that we have taken the base off you could tell that this base has been around for ever. It is pretty much done. It is missing one of the plunger and the other plunger doesn't really even work. So this is why we are changing this doorbell out today. Okay on this leads just make sure they are nice and straight and we will prepare them right here in a little bit. I'm Chad Smith and we are putting a new doorbell in this house today."
