How to Sand a Rock

"Hi I'm Jason with Expert Village.com. Today we're making the rock charm necklace. We've talked about all of the polishing, or the cutting we're going to do, we've drilled the holes, and now we're actually going to start the first cutting on it. And I'll demonstrate that and stop and then I'll talk about it, and then I'll start again, so that you can see what I'm talking about. Turn the drill on low and make sure your rock is cold to start with. Notice I just did the front surface here. I'm going to dry it off a little bit and you can see the scratches made in the rock have actually taken some of the shine of the rock away. It's actually made it a little bit more dull, which is exactly what we want. So we're going to do the whole thing in the next step, and that way we start the whole rock with the complete smooth surface that we want."
