Now that you've learned the basics in tap dancing and know the 10 basic steps in tap dancing, I guess I want to talk a little bit about things like balance of weight, just balance in general. Rule number one of keeping your balance while tap dancing is never look at your feet while you do it, it's going to be really hard not to. If you can, try to get a really big mirror to practice in front of. Or hopefully, if you decide to go to a dance school they have big hardwood floors and big mirrors that go floor to ceiling, so that you'll avoid doing this. If you do this you will probably fall off balance and it'll make your end performance look awful. Its better to keep your chin up, your shoulders back, keep your weight as evenly distributed on both feet as you can, and then just remember to keep your weight centered and to keep your shoulders and hips facing forward. If you are doing a warm-up and you have to shuffle for example repeated times on one foot, bend your left knee slightly to get your balance and you can just shuffle over and over again, and not loose your balance.
