"Now that we learned a basic brush we're going to learn something very similar called a strike some schools call it a spank, for the record I don't make up these terms they been for a 100 years so it's exactly like a brush only it's reversed. As we already gone over a brush goes forward a spank or a strike goes backward so you start from the forward position and go back. So what your doing is taking the ball of the tap shoe and striking the floor it's good to practice that on each side several times. And also to the side it's good to rotate feet as well anther thing is you want to make sure it sounds clean like a solid snap instead of the drag like that, you don't want to do that it has to be clean, just like that."
