Video Transcript

"On behalf of Expert Village I'm Teddy Kern at Dance Manhattan in New York City and this is Heather Gehring and Lou Brock and we'll be teaching Foxtrot. Since the real fun of Foxtrot is traveling, after all it's considered one of the three traveling social dances, Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango are the traveling dances. So this dance can travel forward and backward in not just a forward and backward direction but diagonally around the room. Which allows one to weave through the crowd and to travel in a really beautiful pattern. So that weaving pattern is called the zig zag, which means it zigs and zags around the room. So Lou and Heather are going to demonstrate exactly the same step, basic Foxtrot in forward and backward steps, slow, slow, quick, quick, I'll call it out and then they'll travel in the diagonal directions, we'll call this zig zag. It's also called the Magic Step. Ready? Slow, slow, now backwards. Slow, slow, on the diagonal, forward, slow, side close. Slow, slow, quick, quick. Slow, slow, quick, quick."
