"Hi Scott duPont, film producing 102, welcome back to Expert Village. Now you?re casting, so you are moving forward with a production or a movie. One of the most critical aspects, number one is the script. You got a great script. Probably the second most important thing is your talent. Now I am going to make this real simple, just cut through all the hosh-posh here. You can either do non-union, ok, where you are not even dealing with the unions. If you are doing ultra, ultra, low budget films, five, ten, twenty thousand dollars. You do not even want to deal with the unions. Now, if you have a little bit more money one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand dollars, I would strongly encourage you to look at a "Sag Ultra Low Budget Agreement". It is a new agreement that Screen Actor's Guild came out with, for more information you can go to wwwsag.org and they will tell you all the information you need to know. You can bring in one, two, three, however many you want, sag actors into your film at just one hundred dollars a day. Word of wisdom, I would in part with you, in dealing with Sag be very, very detailed with the paperwork, be very open, upfront and honest with them. They are here to help independent film producers, do not try to tweak your budget, just be honest with them. Because you do not want to get into any kind of trouble with Sag, whether it is overtime or penalties, just do the best you can and they will be very, very fair to you. And once you have your cast you are ready to go to the next step. Which, I will be right back in a minute on Expert Village"
