"On behalf of Expert Village I'm Safi Thomas from the hip hop dance conservatory, here in New York City. We are here to bring you freestyle techniques in hip hop dance. Now the next process we are going to talk about attenuation. Attenuation comes out from a technique called the blade technique. What that means attenuation is how you attach yourself to the music song. So let's say a song has like a interesting beat what attenuation is how you are attaching yourself to those different elements so it like you pull on different parts of the musicality. You have what is called a primary percussion which is that beat that we hear that we always like. That uh, from that the primary percussion is either vocal or you can go to what is called the under beat or syncopation which is that in between beat. Where it is almost like it is a beat that most people can not hear and we are going to show you how to attenuate to the beat. "
