my name is Pat Louis. Here in Miami I'm going to show you today how to set up a drum kit. The high hat is kind of an intriqit little unit and you have to really know the specifics of it. First of all the pedal is loose unless you hook it into the bottom area like that, then it's anchored. You also want to make sure that this part which is loosened raised and lowered is high enough and the right position so that when it's placed on the ground that it's above the floor. Cause you want to have a little room for the pedal to go up and down. The other aspects are you can actually lower and raise this part which is where the symbols will rest and you can also adjust (tighten) this up to make sure that this doesn't move that much. There is a couple of little pieces that you want to add to that one is a resting place for the ped, the ped goes on then the symbols will go on top of that. This goes less of a noise when you're hitting metal against metal, the ped also allows the bottom symbol to rock a little bit and go with the flow as you'll see in a moment.
