Hi! I am Michael Oberst and I am a mandolin instructor. In this segment we are going to be doing some easy picking, some single note picking and we are not going to be using our left hand in this one we will just going to be picking with our right hand and some open strings. I am going to be tapping my foot to keep us in time. What we are going to do to start this exercise is I will tell you, we will start with our G. Play that four times then move down to the D. Hit that string four times and then move down to the A. Hit that one four times and then the E and hit that four times. Now we are going to stay in time with my foot stomping and let us give it a try… now you may have noticed that my picking they were all down strokes there. So make sure that when you practice you just practice with all down strokes. Now why do not we do that again but start from our high E string and go to our D and then go to our G…
